It was a cold and wet Thursday in January when Andalucian Auctions SL opened their doors for the first time and hoped the public would come to their first Auction being held in Campillos. The warehouse floor was full of allsorts from bric a brac to three piece suites ready to be sold. Within the first few hours the customers arrived and registered for their bid numbers and started looking round the Lots.

With numerous items to choose from the excitement started to be felt round the floor. During the next two hours of the auction everything was sold. Everything from a pair of settees were sold for just €7, tables, disco balls & even a waterbed for a euro! Jewellery bargains were had, computers, lights and so much more. The warehouse was completely emptied but within another three days it was virtually full again from people wanting their items sold that they were almost ready for the following auction and the worry was not if people would come but how to fit everything in!  And so Andalucian Auctions was finally a reality.

Within the last four months, the Auction house has run away with its owners. Growing from strength to strength. Having found a niche in the market which stemmed from the owners themselves not knowing what to do with furniture they had brought from the UK but no longer wanted.  In the UK it was the norm to take furniture to a charity shop or second hand shop but being inland and away from the coast the situation arose where Claire and Diane, her collegue, thought they’d see if they couldn’t sell it themselves. Now the company has expanded into household clearance & removals service, they buy and sell anything and everything, as their licence permits as long as “it’s moveable and not alive”!

All the jewellery they sell is checked for authenticity, especially the gems so you know exactly what you are buying, sizes are checked, hallmarks verified and still the items are sold at bargain prices and going down a storm with both ladies and gents. One lucky lady at the last Auction bought a brand new diamond half eternity ring for €170 and had it valued in the UK for £300, so yet another very happy customer.

So, if you are wondering what to do with your unwanted items or have new products you wish to place in the auction and sell look no further than contacting Andalucian Auctions, with the ability to collect your goods it’s an ideal way to make some money and free-up that space you’re after! The company can store your purchases until you are ready for them, so if you’re waiting to sign up for that new house don’t put off buying the dining table and chairs before you need them.  Delivery can be arranged for large items at a very competitive rate.

To receive a catalogue 24 hours before an auction just e-mail the Auction house to be put on their mailing list or pop in and see them and register yourself for free - whilst you're there have a browse as you never know what bargains are in the Aladdin's cave as stock changes day by day.

Items are often bought straight off the shop floor and never make it to auction so it’s always worth a visit just to see what’s in store, if something is destined for auction night you can always place a private bid at anytime before the night at the desk this is especially useful if you can’t make it on the night.

Many customers have come back each month, normally to buy but Claire, Mike and Diane appreciate all their customers even those that just come for a night out - hopefully a good time is had by all! Some people have commented that it’s such a laugh, opportunity to have someone make you a brew and have a bar of chocolate and a chat making for a good night out. People are traveling from as far as Granada for the unique night out and all the staff at Andalucian Auctions are so grateful for the support shown so far.

There’s so many ways to grab a bargain either off the shop floor or at the Auction, ideal if you’re a market trader or maybe the new merchandise stall which sells a wide variety of items, changing all the time - anything from famous brands of make up to tin openers. don't forget to check the jewellery display or the Cudeca second-hand clothes shop for more bargains. Either way, well worth a visit - go along and see the team, whatever the weather!

Who We Are

Andalucian Auctions S.L. is solely owned by Claire and Michael Marriott.

The list of contributors that have helped make the business what it is today is a long one, including all our customers, however our stars are:

Diane Green, having been with us from the very start, Diane is such an integral part of the Auctions.  She has stood with us through thick and thin and is a true friend. Our first employee of the business and we hope Diane will stay with us for the foreseeable future.

Jack Green, Diane's son, is now with us on Auction days. Assisting not only with our Spanish speaking clients but also with the sometimes thankless task of portering the Auction. Having watched Jack grow in to a fine young man over the years, it is now a pleasure to have him as part of the team.

Becky Marriott, our most recent employee - our daughter Becky. Clearly we will need to invest in a customer service course with the employment of teenagers but joking aside, we have been very impressed and we hope she will enjoy working in our family run business.

Julie and Vivienne - The Mums - staying within the family arena we are helped from both Claire and Diane's mothers - Julie and Vivienne on Auction Day. Known affectionately as the Rottweilers of the pack, these ladies are here on Auction day to check our customers go home with the right items on the day!
